Allow myself to introduce...myself

I crossed 110k LinkedIn followers yesterday.

But then I realized I have never really introduced myself properly.

So, allow myself to introduce myself.

I’m Josue (ho-su-eh), a 31-year-old bloke from Mexico.

Here’s my story in 33 sentences:

1. Quit job at Sam's Club to start a business

2. Borrow money from parents (Thanks mom and dad!)

3. Lose all of it in the first four months (ouch)

4. Realize you suck at marketing and copywriting

5. Spend all savings on useless marketing courses and masterminds because you think that’s what you need

6. Realize you didn’t need that at all

7. Move back with parents (humbling experience)

8. Spend 6 months studying how actual copywriting works

9. Start freelancing and get fired from your first client (double ouch)

10. Get hired at an agency

11. Spend a year and a half learning the ropes

12. Start a content consulting business on the side (scary but exciting)

13. Get so busy you have to quit your agency job

14. Content starts to make sense

15. Double down on consulting and double your rates

16. Get some retainers and feel on top of the world

17. Lose your retainers by taking on too much work (classic mistake)

18. Get so stressed you get shingles

19. Take a month off to heal (and think)

20. Start a content agency (now full time)

21. Struggle to get clients because what worked before isn’t working anymore

22. Start posting on Twitter to see if you get something out of it.

23. Fail.

24. Start posting on LinkedIn to see if you get something out of it.

25. Fail

26. Spend 20+ hours on a LinkedIn post

27. Get your first 3k LinkedIn followers in 24 hours

28. Double down on what’s working

29. Go from 0 to 50k followers in about 6 months.

30. People start reaching out to you for LinkedIn help

31. Start CurationLabs to help others scale on LinkedIn through content leverage.

32. Go from 50k to 110k followers and hit 6 figures

33. Realize that this is just the beginning and there's so much more to come

So, that’s me.

In my own words, I guess.

I don’t think my story is special, but hopefully will inspire someone out there to keep going.

I'm not sure what the future holds, but I'm excited to find out.

I'll keep sharing my journey, the lessons I learn, and hopefully, help a few people along the way.

If you're reading this and you're struggling, know that you're not alone.

Everyone starts somewhere.

The key is to start, even if you're scared.

Take that first step, and then the next, and the next.

Before you know it, you'll be miles ahead of where you started.

P.S. If this resonates with you at all, just reply and say “Hi.”

I’ll respond to everyone!
